What the Study Found
Meaningful Pain Relief: After 12 weeks, participants who received the cannabis extract reported their pain scores dropping by nearly two points on an 11-point scale – an important improvement for patients managing chronic discomfort.
Improved Sleep & Function: Beyond pain reduction, patients experienced better sleep quality and improved daily physical function.
Sustained Benefits: In an extension phase lasting up to six months, participants continued to show improvements when taking the cannabis extract.
Why This Matters
This is one of the largest and most rigorous studies to date investigating a standardized cannabis extract for chronic pain. While more research is always welcome, especially into long-term effects and how it might work alongside existing treatments, these findings mark an important step forward.
