In order to provide you with products and services, as well as to remain compliant with applicable regulations and laws, Starseed needs to know some of your personal information. You have a right to know how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information and to correct that information if it is wrong. You can rest assured that we will, to the best of our ability, ensure that your personal information held by us remains accurate, confidential, and secure.

Information We Collect About You

  • Personal information: name, mailing address, email address, phone number, IP address, username or similar identifiers we may use to contact you.
  • Non-personal information: demographic information, statistical or aggregated information that does not identify you directly.
  • Technical information: login information, browser type/version, time zone, plug-ins, OS, platform, and connection/equipment details.
  • Website interaction details: URLs, clickstream, program data, products viewed, page response times, errors, visit lengths, clicks, scrolls, mouse-overs, browsing paths, and phone numbers used to call our service lines.

Our website may use 'cookies' to collect non-personal information about you, to help us better deliver our products and services to you. Cookies allow our server to recognize you when you return and retain preferences. You can disable cookies via your browser if desired.

How We Collect Information About You

Starseed collects personal information only for reasonable purposes required to provide services. This information is collected directly from you, your authorized representatives, or from medical, licensing, regulatory, or credential verification organizations. We use fair and lawful collection methods.

Starseed Platform

The Starseed Platform provides secure access for Users to obtain medical cannabis and certain prescription products via Licensed Clinicians. Key definitions:

  • Assessment: online questionnaire and treatment evaluation by a Licensed Clinician.
  • Licensed Clinicians: physicians or nurse practitioners licensed in Ontario.
  • Authorized Non-Practitioner Professionals: other regulated health professionals licensed in Ontario.
  • PHI: Personal Health Information, including health history, care, and eligibility for coverage.
  • Services: Assessment review, prescription, and dispensing through the platform.
  • User: a registered individual using the platform.

Prescription Services

When you opt for prescription services, Licensed Clinicians collect PHI through the Starseed Platform to determine eligibility. Information may include name, email, phone, sex, DOB, address, medical history, and emergency contact details. Authorized Non-Practitioner Professionals may also collect and access this information to dispense prescribed treatment.

How We Use Your Information

Starseed uses personal information only for the purposes described here or disclosed at the time of collection. Uses include:

  • Processing registration and eligibility for products and services;
  • Verifying identity, medical declarations, and documents;
  • Offering products and services and better understanding client needs;
  • Notifying you of website or service changes;
  • Improving products, services, and customer experience;
  • Processing payments;
  • Meeting legal and regulatory requirements;
  • Other consistent purposes.

When And To Whom We May Disclose Your Information

Starseed discloses information only when reasonable and necessary, such as sharing with your prescribing physician for continuity of care, or with service providers who must safeguard your information. Disclosures may occur to:

  • Service providers performing functions for Starseed;
  • Organizations involved in business systems, testing, and upgrades.

Disclosure without consent may occur when required by law, to protect rights/safety, to pursue legal remedies, to collect owed monies, or in corporate reorganizations or sales. Records of disclosures are maintained where applicable.

Consent

By providing personal information, you consent to its collection, use, and disclosure under this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time with reasonable notice, subject to legal obligations and Starseed’s rights. Refusal may limit eligibility for services.

Unsubscribing

If you do not wish Starseed to contact you or share your information with partners, you can request this through the Client Care team. Marketing communications require express consent and can be withdrawn via unsubscribe links or by contacting info@starseed.com.

The Accuracy of Your Information

It is your responsibility to keep your personal information accurate and up-to-date. You may request changes via the Change of Information form. If corrections are refused, you may challenge the decision and a record will be made.

Retention Of Your Information

Information is retained only as long as necessary for its purpose. Storage is in secure Canadian facilities. Once no longer needed, it is securely destroyed, deleted, or anonymized.

Access to Your Information

You may access and review your personal information through your account or by written request to info@starseed.com. Requests are answered within 30 days. Access may be denied in specific circumstances (e.g., law enforcement interference, third-party confidentiality, trade secrets, legal privilege).

The Security of Your Information

Starseed takes strong measures to secure personal information. Employees and suppliers are bound by confidentiality agreements. Systems are protected by physical, digital, and procedural safeguards. Information is destroyed or erased when no longer needed.
